Hurricane Florence: Help the Starrs

Asking for help is hard. Watching your dear friends deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Florence and the unprecedented flooding it brought with it is even harder.

So what can I do as I sit here 2000 miles away, safe and dry in the desert? I can ask the hard question.  I can turn to my community and say we have some friends in need,  let's pull together to help. So this is me asking...please help Tyler and Cari Starr rebuild and recover from the devastating flooding that hit downtown New Bern?

Tyler and Cari Starr, whose lives in New Bern, NC were suddenly changed by the record breaking flooding and storm damage to their consignment and clothing store, Twice As Nice. Storm surges have flooded the building and destroyed a significant amount of their
inventory and displays, but they aren't out of the woods yet. The flooding could continue and we won't know the true extent of damages for weeks. The stress and anxiety that has also flowed in with Florence will only continue to rise as the full magnitude of the damage is realized.

Tyler, a U.S. Army veteran, and his wife Cari, the store owner,  rely on this business for their livelihoods.

New Bern is a destination town that relies heavily on tourism and retail spending to support its economy. It could take weeks or months before this riverside community rebounds from such a catastrophe. During this time, the bills still need to be paid, repairs need to be completed, and businesses need to reopen. Life stills goes on.

This goal was chosen to cover their basic living expenses for the next 90 days during the recover.

Any amount of money you donate will give Tyler and Cari just a little more piece of mind and hope to overcome this hardship.
