Hurricane Relief for the Chavez Family

Donation protected

Hurricane Iota unleashed torrential flooding in Central America on Tuesday, causing swollen rivers to burst their banks as it flipped roofs onto the streets, and downed electricity poles and trees, killing at least two people in the region. Iota struck late on Monday, packing winds of nearly 155mph and flooding villages still reeling from the impact of Hurricane Eta two weeks ago (Aljazeera, 2020).

In the direct path of the storm was my close friend, Javier Chavez, his brothers, and his mother. As shown in the photo, Javier and his family lost their home and all of their household belongings due to the devastation caused by Iota. Javier works for a nonprofit organization in San Pedro Sula, and is always the first to step up and help those that are in need. He was working tirelessly to help those affected by Iota until he was directly impacted and had to start working to support himself and his own family. Javier would never ask for help, he is always too busy volunteering and working to help others. Now, the Chavez family needs our help. Please support them in overcoming this disaster by prayer or donation. I encourage you to assist Javier and his family so that he continue working to help others. ❤️
