Hurricane Relief for our PR family

Hi everyone, 

As all of you are aware, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico very hard last week, leaving the entire island (3 million people) without power or telcom services. The west coast, where all of my family is located, was in the eye of the hurricane for over 12 hours straight. 

We have been able to get into brief communication with a few of them and have not heard from most. From what they've told us, however, they are running severely low on supplies, like food and water. My uncle (pictured above) tried going to the grocery store and the shelves were completely empty. Almost all of the gas stations were wiped out during the hurricane, and those that are left have lines that go on for more than 3 hours. Plus, aid is not coming into the island fast enough. It is a true devastation.  

Many of you have kindly reached out asking how to specifically help my family. I sincerely appreciate your sympathy and support. If you can help us with a contribution, we will be able to purchase the goods they desperately need. Currently, USPS is closed on the island, but I expect postal services to resume at some point this week. In the meantime, I am going to prepare packages to be sent directly to my families once they are able to receive them.

All of the money raised through this page will be put towards buying supplies and shipping them to the island. Any excess supplies will be distributed by my family members to their neighbors, friends, etc. on the island.
