BAHAMAS HURRICANE RELIEF FOR ISLAND SEAS STAFF

As you all know, The Bahamas has been greatly affected by Dorian, a catastrophic CAT 5 hurricane that stayed over Grand Bahama for two days.  Island Seas Resort, located in Freeport, endured the storm with very minimal damage.  For the resort staff, however, the damage to the island and their homes has been devastating. 

We are now getting reports that many from our Island Seas Family have had significant damage to their homes, some losing them completely.  We have put together this GoFundMe account for anyone who wants to donate money that will go directly to helping those who work at Island Seas. These funds will be used to purchase items needed for the employees and their families and shipping them to the resort.  We are compiling lists of items that will be needed such as tarps, tents, plywood, water, canned goods, blankets, toiletries, diapers, baby food, dry milk, medical supplies, etc.   Since we have already heard of employees losing their homes, roofs missing, and mass flooding up to the rafters, we know that the list will be extensive and will continue to grow.

We are personally helping the staff at Island Seas, but this is such a huge undertaking, we will need everyone’s help to truly make a difference.  

About the Organizer:  Amanda Carlson-Madigan is the daughter of the owner of the resort and has been the purchasing agent for Island Seas Resort for over ten years.   She will be responsible for purchasing the supplies needed and shipping them directly to Freeport.

100% of the proceeds raised from this fund will be used to help the Island Seas Resort Employees and their families.
