Hurricane Maria has caused catastrophic damage to the island of Puerto Rico.
My elderly parents are Carmelo and Miriam Vargas and they have 2 dogs, Diamond (Yorkie/Chihuahua mix) and Samson (German Shepherd). They need help to buy basic neccessities and rebuild. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, please share this with family and friends.
As of today, there is still no communication in most parts such as the municipality of Isabela, where my parents live. Many homes have suffered severe damage and the dam at Guajataca River broke causing 70,000 people to evacuate. The nearby roads had major damage, making it challenging for emergency personnel to deliver resources such as water, gas and food. First responders are addressing the issues in the capital first, San Juan, which is on the far Northeast of Puerto Rico. We cannot afford to wait for them to reach the Northwest where Isabela is.
