Hi everyone,
My name is Dalian Caraballo, a family physician based in Miami, FL. I am the founder of an amazing group of doctors called "Doctoras Boricuas" all over the US and PR, who are getting together to help Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands after the catastrophic damages caused by hurricane Maria. In just a few short days, our group has grown to include over 1,500 physician volunteers.
We are collecting donations. 100% of the donations will go to relief efforts for those impacted by the hurricane. We will ensure that all donations are used for providing supplies and medications directly to the families in need. As the founder, I am personally withdrawing the funds and obtaining the medicines and medical supplies. We are working directly with the Baton Rouge Emergency Aid Coalition, a registered 501c3 that was developed to provide disaster relief. This hurricane season, the BREAC has provided relief in Texas, Florida, and is now organizing efforts in Puerto Rico and the US VIrgin Islands.
Our group includes physicans in PR that will inform us of the specific needs of each area. Funds will then be used to help with medications and medical supplies that are most desperately needed. All medications that are shipped out of the continental US will be sent from one of our doctors directly to a doctor that is part of our group in different locations within PR. This ensures proper handing off of items and allows you to feel confident that your donation truly achieves the intended purpose.
