Hurricane Maria CRISIS Relief PR

Hi, my name is Laurie. I live in NYC & I am half Puertorican.
As you all know by now Puerto Rico has been hit with the catastrophic Hurricane Maria. My whole family lives in Puerto Rico which includes my mom Lourdes, brother G.T., sister Sandra, my brother-in-law Ricky & nephew Maddox. Along with our family best friend Marian and her daughter Keka. They also have rescued many animals so in total there are 4 dogs & 3 cats. (Seperate households)
The island is in chaos, 3hr lines for gasoline, ATM, groceries, etc. Looting and robberies. Resources running out. Threat of disease and sickness. The list goes on and on as to why getting them out is top priority at least for now.
With electricity looking to take 3-6months and the reality of not having a job- they are faced with the decision to relocate either temporarily or permanently.
I have been blown away by the support and messages from friends & clients asking how to help. So I decided to create this page to help them, because this is personal for me. I already have 2 plane tickets for my brother & mom.
100% of your contributions will go directly to everyone listed above, for recovery expenses, relocation expenses, repairs, bills & basic necessities. The funds will be needed & used immediately.
The horror stories that that I am hearing everyday and the anxiety I feel for not being able to do anything is beyond words. This, at least, feels like a 1st step towards helping. I know we have a long road ahead.
Other ways to help:
My brother GT makes sunglasses & glasses, he is bringing everything with him so he can work out of a shop in Brooklyn. He makes handmade custom sunglasses & glasses. All of his orders in PR have obviously been canceled. He will be taking orders in NYC And you can see his work COA EYE WEAR . Instagram coaeyewear
He will also be brining other handmade goods like jewelry, leather wallets etc. from other Puertorican artisans which he will send all proceeds directly to them.
My sister Sandra is a hairstylist. If she is able to come over, she will be taking appointments in my place SUITE 8 NYC. You can book a blowout or service to support her.

The task to help your whole family out can feel unbearable but I know we are not meant to do life alone. Any bit helps, we have a long road ahead. Also, we plan on helping our community in Puerto Rico once we have secured the well being and safety of my family.
