Hurricane Maria - Cidra and Jeepers

Donation protected
My family is from Cidra, PR.  They live in a small valley in El Sector Los Pinos, Barrio Arenas and have been there all their lives.  It was my grandfather's farm that he divided among his kids and now grandkids.

We have a little house there that's been our little rustic piece of paradise.  It's allowed us to spend more time with friends and family.  It's home.

Me and two of my cousins in front of my grandad's house circa 1975:

We've made friends throughout the island that are like family.  Though we're concerned about our home, we're more concerned for them.

We've finally started getting some news from them.  The immediate need is generators.  The power grid on the island was decimated.  It was already in disrepair due to the economy and this was the final blow.  It'll be months before power is restored.  It's hard enough living without power for a week, I can't imagine months.

We've decided to ask for funds to help our friends and family on the island.  We'll make sure that the assistance goes to them directly.  Right now, nothing other than emergency aide is allowed to the island, but once regular shipping and mailing opens up we'll make sure that secondary items such as generators and power supplies get to them, or we can provide the means for them to purchase them locally.

My eight aunts and uncles live on the island as well as 24 first cousins with their spouses and children.  We also want to help our Jeep friends that have opened their homes and have been overwhelmingly kind and generous to us over the years.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
