Hurricane Laura Relief for McNeese MFA Students

Many of you have asked how you can help in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. I know how helpless I felt in 2005 while watching Hurricane Rita bear down on our beloved Lake Charles. All of our MFA students got to safety, for which we are so grateful! This storm escalated from a Tropical Storm to a near-Category 5 hurricane in a little over 24 hours, the largest to hit this area ever. Yes, that's right, this storm has been even more devastating than Rita. 
Though everyone is safe, it seems that three of our newly arrived first-year MFA students had their apartments destroyed, and we have two international students who don't have U.S. homes to which they can retreat. Dr. Burkel just sent an e-mail moving all course delivery online after next week.

If you can spare a bit of financial support for these students, Chris and I will make sure it's distributed fairly to the students who need funds for relocation, gas, food, and property replacement. I thank you in advance. Aside from this, please pray or lift up a good thought for all those in Lake Charles who have been displaced and have lost so much.
