Hurricane Laura Immediate Aid

By now many of you have seen the devastating power of Hurricane Laura and the destruction that it caused to Southwest Louisiana.  It will take years to rebuild, but in the meantime our family is doing our best to help those on the ground that we know personally.  Insurance and FEMA will rebuild these people's homes, but they need help NOW. 

There is one family that we are helping directly, the house you saw on the main page is their home.  Their roof was completely blown off and everything inside was soaked by the tremendous amount of rain the storm brought.  The other group that we are assisting is a hospice company that a buddy of mine runs in Lake Charles.  He is assisting all of his employees, some, who when they returned home from evacuation found only the foundation of their home was left.  They are also assisting the patients and families.  There currently is no running water, sewage or electricity in that area and it will not be restored for at least 6-8 weeks. 

I have spoken personally to both groups and here is what they need RIGHT NOW:

Cleaning Supplies
Trash Bags
Bug Spray
Florida Water 
Small Ice Chests
Cooling Towels
Storage Space for belongs (rent)
Propane tanks for cooking
Generators (for those feeling generous) this will help to stop the spread of mold until Insurance Adjusters and restoration crews can get there. 
Gas tanks and Gas for generators
and the list will grow as they are better able to assess all the damage.
