Hurricane Laura 2020 Disaster Relief

My name is Cammie Cooley and I am arranging disaster relief in the TX and LA areas post Hurricane Laura. As many of you already know, Hurricane Laura swept across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana as a Catagory 4 hurricane in the early morning of 8/27/2020. Currently there are over 800k people without electricity and many without water as well. There has been flooding and severe wind damage from a 10ft storm surge and 150mph winds. 

I am currently working with others to help get supplies and volunteers into Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana to help with the recovery process. We are bringing in tarps, generators, water, and cleaning products.We have teams to deploy to assist with evacuation and debris removal. This is just the beginning and we have a long road ahead.

In the past I have worked with volunteer groups such as Reach Out Worldwide, All Hands Volunteers, Sirens Project, and even organized my own relief efforts. I’ve been doing disaster response work since 2015 as a photographer, journalist, and paramedic. I’ve helped muck and gut houses post floods, cleared trees from homes, and treated patients in large disaster zones internationally.
