Irma/Maria Relief Puerto Rico

My name is Maura Kehoe Romeo. I am from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am raising funds for my friends in Puerto Rico, the beautiful island where I lived and went to school from 2008-2010. Puerto Ricans have been devastated by the recent hurricanes. If you know me, you know that 100% of the donations I receive (absent the GoFundMe fees) will go directly to assisting my friends, their parents and grandparents. Many do not have power or running water and are facing that reality for the next 6 months. Funds will be used to purchase generators, drinking water, possibly plane tickets for grandparents and parents in emergencies (medical), health and personal care items, items food and other supplies. UPDATE: it's important to keep you updated about where your funds are going. David tried to withdraw last week and we hit an administrational issue as GoFundMe requires the funds to exit through a Canadian bank account. So the new plan is I am going to withdraw the funds and send them ALL to David via PayPal. Your donations will still ALL go DIRECTLY to people on the ground in PR via my close and trusted friend David. I just have to take the money out on behalf because we need a Canadian bank account. UPDATE 2: The first withdrawal is close to $3000 Canadian!! Thanks so much to those who donated so far! You guys are awesome!! I am going to withdraw the funds imminently once the new administration process is approved by GoFundMe. The funds are going to be used on a big trip for groceries and water, propane and gasoline. Then it will be for anything that Omi or Lugo's children need. And a pump and/or building supplies to help with the flood at Javi's house in university gardens. His whole first floor was completely submerged (where the kitchen and Javi's old bedroom are).
