Hurricane Irma Relief-Chris & Lynda

On September 6, 2017 Hurricane Irma made it's way through the British Virgin Islands and caused wide spread destruction: demolishing homes and cars, knocking out power, and causing massive flooding. There was also an unfortunate loss of life.
For those that perished we send condolences to their families and friends. For those that were injured we pray for a speedy recovery. For those that lost everything it is time to come together and help them rebuild.
Thankfully, from all accounts, our family survived. After three long days we finally heard from my brother Christopher Varlack, who lives on the island of Tortola. The report was that he, our sister Lynda Varlack, and their mother Victoreen Romney-Varlack were alive and had sustained minor injuries. We were overjoyed to hear they were alive and ok.
However the personal loss was great. They lost their vehicles and a significant number of personal effects including clothes, shoes, toiletries, personal records, medications etc. In addition to seeking treatment for their injuries, they are now faced with the herculean task of rebuilding their homes and lives on an island devastated by a natural disaster.
Many have reached out to them asking how they can help. We have decided to start this fundraiser to collect monies that will be used to procure items to help sustain them during the island's rebuilding process.
For example, portable generators are needed because it will be weeks if not months before electricity is restored to West End, Tortola. Supplies are needed to help secure their homes by replacing shattered windows and doors, along with other costly repairs. Portable water filtration systems are needed to help provide clean and drinkable water.
The tasks that lie ahead of them and countless others are quite significant and it will take a monumental effort to get back to some sense of normalcy. We are asking you to donate whatever you can, no matter the amount. Rest assured it will go directly to our family to help ease their burden. If you are unable to donate please lift them up in prayer as they work through this process. Thank you.
