Hurricane Ian Relief for Allison and Bobby

Hello, all. My name is Emily Ryan, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, brother-in-law, and soon to be niece: Allison, Bobby, and Audry Sturkey.

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian entirely decimated the island of Fort Myers Beach, Florida. My sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Bobby Sturkey, have lived on the island of Fort Myers Beach for over two years in their home with their dog, Dobby. Yesterday, they discovered the unimaginable news of their home no longer being in existence. As with most of the island, their home is entirely rubble, with nothing being salvageable. Currently, the only possessions they own consist of the items they brought in their car to safety upon evacuation. In addition, Bobby worked for Island Carts FMB, a golf cart business on the island of Fort Myers Beach that has also taken a hit, losing all of their golf carts. Bobby also enjoyed managing several rental properties on the island for income, all of which have been completely demolished as well. All of this has left Allison and Bobby without an income at a time when they need it the most.

To top it all off, my sister is 34 weeks pregnant with her first baby, baby girl Audry. Her baby shower was two weeks ago, therefore, last week she finished setting up her nursery with every baby item she needed for baby Audry. So not only did Allison and Bobby lose their home and all of their possessions, but unborn Audry’s as well.

Due to the situation, my sister is returning to our childhood home tomorrow in the Chicago suburbs for the foreseeable future. She will be arriving without her husband, as he must stay and help the island. The next few months will be an incredibly trying time for my entire family as we all process the insurmountable loss and adjust to a new life.

If you know Allison and Bobby personally, you know they are the strongest fighters with the biggest hearts. It has been heartbreaking to see the utter devastation, hopelessness, depression, and anxiety they are experiencing at this time.

My sister is my rock and my best friend; she is always strong when others are not. But now, it is time for us to be strong for her. I ask that you consider supporting Allison and Bobby in any way you can. All funds received will go directly to Allison, Bobby, and unborn baby Audry. If you are able to donate just $1, it will be used to help my family rebuild their life that was demolished by Hurricane Ian.
