Hello everyone, today on September 29th at around 5:00 am in Winter Springs, Orlando my sister Amanda Trompeta and her fiancé Dimitrios Frantzis were awoken by the cries of her dog Hercules as he warned them of the rapid water rushing into their home through the bottom of both the garage and front door. In a matter of 40 min the water had gone from the level of their calf to around 3 feet of water, submerging all their furniture under muddy water. In this midst of shock and panic, important paperwork was rescued but not much else. All appliances including the fridge began floating around the house so they took shelter along with their cat and dog above the kitchen counter, the highest point inside the house. Eventually at around 11:40am, countless hours later, search and rescue was finally able to reach them and take them to safety. This area was never told the evacuate, they were told they were safe in their homes and to expect not much else but water and loss of electricity. Sadly the reality was otherwise. Both their vehicles, all of their furniture, appliances, clothing, as well as basic human necessities were destroyed in the water. This home was recently bought back in October of 2020, my sister and her fiancé were just now getting on their feet after graduating collage, slowly building their home from the ground up while paying back collage debts. This immense tragedy has completely set back the future they have worked so hard to achieve. Above all else, their most magical day, their wedding day, takes place 2 weeks from now, 2 weeks from this disaster, her wedding dress and other important factors of this special day were damaged and or destroyed in the water.
