With a grateful heart, my sister and I are requesting help for our father and sister affected by Hurricane Harvey.  They live in Lumberton, TX.

They lost all of their furniture and most of their household belongings in the storm.  Water over 6 feet tall stood for a week.  It took nearly three weeks before he could get back into the home.  Mold had taken its toll.

The smells could knock you over, before you even opened the door or window.  It was overpowering. Smells of Wet clothing and  rotting food. Debris lined the streets looked like a Mad Max film.  "How can this be real?" we asked ourselves, as it seems these hurricanes are happening more and more.  Only this time, it washed away a 68 year old man's lifetime of memories.  Away with the flood waters, washed away his Grizzly & Dewault  tools, his clothes, many family photos.  It flooded his truck, leaving him without a vehichle until our sister Vanessa returns with her car.

Dad has secured a 5th wheel trailer for he and our sister to live in while their house is being rebuilt.  Family, friends, and strangers have helped for about a week, tearing out the interior of the home, up to 6.5 feet tall.

We have seen and heard countless stories on the news and radio of Americans giving of their time, services, or money.  Our father is disabled with impaired mobility and neuropathy (numbness) of his arms and legs.  With all of our family in other states, we are at a loss how to be able to be there physically to help them.  There is still much work to be done.

We recognize that many arent able to give money, but perhaps your time?  Helping to move away debris, or bring a warm meal.   The workload, the paperwork, the living situation is all very overwhelming.    Any money raised will go towards rebuilding and replacing household items not covered by the flood insurance. Prayers are free and much needed.

Thank you in advance
