Hurricane Harvey Help - lost it all

My name is James Martin, from Dickinson, TX. I am a Learning Technology Coach for the Clear Creek school district.

Well, we've lost everything. As so many in our area, Hurricane Harvey has destroyed our home with massive flooding. Unlike with our fire a year and a half ago, we now have lost both of our vehicles as well. We were only able to put a couple of things on closet shelves, but the water may have risen high enough to take that as well. We basically have the clothes on our backs. A week from payday, accounts are now overdrawn with motel rooms, and no way to pay for transportation (cabs, rental cars etc.) Much of my disabled parents' medications and some of my diabetic testing supplies were destroyed, and will have to be refilled.

Unfortunately, when I bought this house, we were advised it was a 500 year flood plain and not to get flood insurance. So, we may not even have a way to rebuild or replace anything.

Please know, this is not easy to ask. I have two disabled parents and my own illnesses to take care of, and I don't know where else to turn. Red Cross is overwhelmed, and FEMA is a waiting game. And so we turn to our friends.

The 10,000 is just an estimate because they ask for a number. I don't know what's reasonable or what's excessive, but believe me when I say anything at all will help.

Please help us, we need you, and God bless you!

UPDATE: GoFundMe has asked me to include the following info to verify the authenticity of this campaign, so that I am able to withdraw funds:

1. Who you are and where you’re from: James Martin from Dickinson, TX

2. Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for: I am the party for whom I'm raising the funds.  My parents, Jimmie and Linda are included with me, as they are both disabled and my dependents.

3. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible): We will be spending funds on clothing, food, rental car, replacement medications, food for pets, a wheelchair, and ultimately, toward any replacement of a vehicle which was only Liability coverage, and repairs which will not be covered under insurance due to having no flood insurance.

5. Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies: As I am the beneficiary, I will be withdrawing directly into my own bank account.
