We met our goal of $5000 and took a huge load of much needed supplies to Refugio today September 2, 2017.
Any money raised at this point will go towards rental equipment to help get the town back into working order. And.... maybe more mosquito spray, they are huge down there!

Hi everyone - Refugio is a small town about 40 miles from the coast and suffered a devastating impact from hurricane Harvey. There are about 2,800 people living in the town, 7,300 in the county, and while they are receiving some support, as can be expected, attention and resources seem to be diverting to the Houston area.
As of Wednesday morning, the small town faced the reality of 75 percent of residents had lost their homes or their homes had sustained damage. There is intermittent water, but it is non-potable. There is no electricity and it is not expected to be restored for 10-20 days. HEB is providing bottled water and some supplies.
On Tuesday, an opportunity came up for us to directly support the efforts in Refugio with a substantial list of necessary items that can be used immediately. It is important that we secure an organization that is well run and will ensure all resources are appropriately distributed. As a result, we are in contact with Deborah Bauer, the County Attorney who is in charge of relief efforts and she is very hopeful we can help. Our goods and supplies will be donated to a centralized located that is doing the widespread distribution. The location is:

So, we are going to do what ever we can.
We realize many of you have already given generously to other organizations and we have no desire to diminish that good work. However, if you have the ability, we would love for you to help us.
