The country I'm from, Honduras, is currently in crisis. In fact, every country in Central America right now has been deeply affected by Hurricane Eta and Iota. This includes Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica etc. These are indigenous communities and some of the poorest countries in Latin America. People have died or gone missing, homes are destroyed, children are starving, agricultural lands are flooded. These countries are already suffering from poverty and corrupt government + Covid-19 pandemic that depleted most of the resources they had available.
I understand we're living in uncertain times as the USA is dealing with high cases of Covid-19 infections and high rates of unemployment. If you can't donate, share the page. Or let me know if you have any old clothes you don't need anymore, because we're currently working on gathering items to send to Honduras.
With Thanksgiving around the corner, be grateful if you still have a source of income, if your family is alive and well, that and you still have somewhere to call home. That though we are living in such a hectic time, you still have these things that others have lost.
If you love Latin music. Donate. If you love Latin food. Donate. If you love Latin people. Donate. If you love Latin countries. Donate.
I'm grateful that my family in Honduras have not been directly affected. All donations will go to my aunt in Honduras who will purchase things for the community in need and will provide proof of purchases upon request.
I'll start off by donating $100 to the cause, and hope you join me in trying to help this small beautiful country restore itself. I promise you, any $1 you can donate will help.
