Hurricane Assistance for the Rubenstein Family

My sister, Karen Bales Rubenstein and her beautiful family has been displaced by hurricane Laura. On the morning of August 27th, Laura passed directly over their house. We are not sure of the full extent of the damage; however, almost every tree on their property fell with some hitting the house. One of the biggest challenges is Beauregard Electric is estimating four to six weeks before power is restored. Living without electricity or A/C in SW LA is going to be challenging to say the least. In addition, several members of the family have electronic, medically necessary devices.
There are no available hotels within hours of their house. Even if there were hotels close by, it would cost them the minimum of $300.00 per night due to needing four rooms to accommodate their large family. And that is if they can find room for no more than $70.00 per night.
For all who know my sister, you know how big her heart is and how willing she is to help whomever she can in any way she can. For the past 18 years, she has given tirelessly of her time and finances to raise 17 children, many with special needs all while she and Gary work full time. Gabe, their 11-year old is still recovering from an AVM, which required emergency surgery. In addition to all of this, Karen is still recovering from her recent COVID-19 diagnosis.
The immediate need is multiple generators, gas for the generators, food, water, and help removing all of the fallen trees on their property. We are asking anyone who is able to please contribute in one or more of the following ways:
