Hurricane Maria Dominica Relief

Donation protected

My name is Sharma Joseph. I am an anesthesiologist and critical care physician at Boston University Medical Center. I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada; however, my roots lay in the Caribbean island nation of Dominica. It is the island my parents call home and one that I have visited many times. If you have ever visited, you would have been sure to notice the friendliness, warmth, and energy of its people.

Unfortunately, Dominica was left devastated by Hurricane Maria. Its tropical forests are gone, homes have been washed away, villages left dessimated. Just turn on CNN and the images will leave you heartbroken. People are living without things we take for granted - running water and electricity. Many have died and many more are still unaccounted for. Bridges have been destroyed leaving search and rescue in remote areas impossible. People are starved for food, water, shelter, and clothing. Dominicans are desperate for aid.

This is your opportunity to help. Please join me in opening our wallets to help those in this critical time of need. No donation is too small.

100% of money raised will be used to purchase relief items such as tarpaulins, water, non-perisheables, hygiene items, flashlights and batteries, infant necessities. Items will be shipped to Dominica from a central location in Boston. I will be on the ground the first week of January 2018 to receive the items and with the help of the mayor of its capital city will disseminate them to those in need.
