Humphries Family Love Offering

Donation protected
The Humphries family has been under a great deal of adversity lately and we need to come together to love on them in their time of need.

In late December Amanda, pregnant with a precious baby girl, was admitted to the hospital for some health issues. Baby A was born prematurely and Amanda struggled as well.

In February Amanda was able to get to a place of healing to share and update with us:
"I’ve had a few people ask me how my sweet baby girl and I was, and we are improving and doing amazing!! The Lord has been so good and gracious to us! ❤️

The past few months have been CRAZY! Most people don’t know all of this because I’m more of a private person. Back at the end of October, I fell down the stairs and sprained my right foot, along with my left foot and tore ligaments as well. I began healing with that when at the end of November, I tested positive with Covid and the Flu. The whole month of December I was VERY sick. I truly believe it was only because my immune system was down because of being pregnant. (My body likes to do crazy things while expecting) Christmas Day, my blood pressure was very high and I began swelling very bad. I made it through the weekend and on Monday, the doctor made the decision to put me in the hospital because my blood pressure was so dangerously elevated, (preeclampsia) and told me I wouldn’t leave there until I had my baby. (That was very nerve racking to this unprepared momma of 4, that had pretty much nothing ready and had children at home needing her.)

My unborn baby was now being effected and they decided to induce me. After 2 days to prepare my body for the baby’s delivery, my sweet baby girl entered this world 6 weeks early! (That’s not much to some people, but to an unprepared, very sick momma, that was scary!) I made it through labor and delivery with God’s amazing help. Avalynn was put in the NICU to be cared for there. A few hours After delivery, I had serious complications, which at the time I felt like I was going to die. But once again, the Lord was so gracious to me! His grace is beyond wonderful! (I don’t know how anyone lives without him) I couldn’t go see my new baby, which was heartbreaking, but I had to trust that she was going to be okay! (I’m thankful for a direct line to the throne room!) My sweet hubby would go and FACETIme with me so I could see and talk with her. So, That helped a lot.

I had my first blood transfusion, but days went by and my body didn’t want to get better. After trial and error on medicine, I was still struggling. Avalynn continued to improve in the NICU, so that sure helped this mommy’s heart though! A few days later, I eventually got to start going down and seeing her a few times each day with the help of being pushed in a wheelchair. I still couldn’t walk. I was Miserable. Finally after another blood transfusion, and wonderful nurses who were adamant about figuring out what my body needed, I started feeling more like myself!

Eventually, Avalynn and I got to come home together, and we have been improving! I’m still on medicine and she’s being monitored, but GOD IS SO GOOD!

I’m SO SO thankful for the many prayers prayed for us both and the many thoughtful gestures as well. From home cooked meals, to gift cards, to diapers, wipes, clothes, cash, and Venmo deposits to pay for meals, and just sweet messages, I can’t explain how thankful I am!! We’re so blessed with family, church members and so many friends that have showed they cared! When I was at my lowest, God showed out! So thank you!! I will never know who all prayed prayers, but I’m so appreciative."

What a good God we serve!

Last night the Humphries fam was dealt a low blow again when their house caught fire.

"Proverbs 27:1 “Boast not thyself of to morrow;
for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”

This scripture has been on my mind the past few months and is more real than it’s ever been in my life. Last night our house caught on fire, but thankfully it was contained in our garage. Some of the house has smoke damage, and everything smells like smoke, but that’s nothing that we can’t replace or repair. The ‘things’ that got destroyed, are just that, ‘things’. My family are all safe and I’m SO thankful. ❤️
The firefighters called my kids, “Heroes”, for all of the quick decisions they made, and practically stopping the fire from spreading. My neighbor knocked the garage in and helped smother the flames, and helped keep the kids calm. I’m forever grateful for his help.
I kind of feel like we are still in shock, but I also believe God gives us so much grace, for scary times like these. So please pray for us in the next weeks as we try to get back to normal, and Pray for my children. They are definitely shook up! But wow! God is good. It’s such a little matter in this crazy world and It could have been SOO much worse."

As they began to assess the damage today, they have found that most of their belongings have been severely damaged. As a home schooling  family with 5 beautiful children, those belongings are needed for them to be successful. Clothing, learning materials, baby care items, toys, books, bedding.... The list goes on and on.

Please pray about how you can bless this family and give as the Lord leads you.

Pastor Humphries, Amanda, and their children are a blessing to all that know them. They lead a church body, care for children in our home school community, own a small business in our community, and love their friends and family well.

Let's give back to them just some of the love they pour into us!
