Bringing Home a Brother

It’s hard to know exactly where to start so we will just jump right in. We are the Humphreys Family!!! Jason and I have been blessed with two absolutely amazing children Jaxon and Ella. Having kids of our own was a decision we struggled with given I am a carrier of a genetic disorder hemophilia. (Hemophilia is a rare bleeding disorder in which the blood doesn't clot normally. If you have hemophilia, you may bleed for a longer time than others after an injury. You also may bleed inside your body (internally), especially in your joints and muscles.) We have always thought of adoption as an option but in 2007 decided to put our faith in God that if we were to have children of our own it would happen. That's where Jaxon comes into the story. Our wonderful son who does have hemophilia! There are the obvious questions as to why us, why Jaxon, why do we have to deal with hemophilia? Then along came Ella in 2010 after a very difficult pregnancy with many complications she was here, healthy and happy. Jason and I decided we wouldn't try to have more children given all the complications with Ella it just didn't seem possible.

Our life is happy and full, but there has always seemed to be something missing. Again God had a plan for our family...remember our questions why us, why Jaxon, why do we have to deal with hemophilia. God has been preparing our hearts and our home to welcome a child from across the world who like our precious Jaxon has hemophilia!!!! He has a plan for our lives and our family and we are putting our faith in him to see us through this journey. Jason and I are adopting Maxen, a 7 year old boy with hemophilia from an orphanage in China.

The minute we saw him we knew he was our son! It's hard to describe the moment we first saw his face and love filled our hearts.  He is currently living in an orphanage without medical treatment for his hemophilia, and knowing this is heartbreaking. We see first-hand how this disorder can affect Jaxon and he has wonderful medical care. To think our other son Maxen is across the world in pain without the love of a family is almost more than we can bear. We received our pre-approval from China that Maxen will be our son and we are allowed to adopt. Now the long process of paperwork and waiting begins along with finding the funds to bring him home. This has all happened very quickly, and we are reaching out to our family and friends to help us bring Maxen home!!! The cost is estimated around $38,000. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers through this journey we appreciate all your love and support.

Please help us bring our son home!!!!
