Human Right to Health

Arms are essential espcially when you're working as a nurse, and as I slowly type this (left handed) I am beginning to value and find thanks for a generally healthy and well functioning body. For those who don't know what happened- this last Sunday I fell when riding an electric skateboard and broke my olecranon (elbow) bone.

As I will be unable to work and care for those in need of medical help in these next couple months I am really hoping this will allow me to still contribute to those that need health care assistance. This accident has put me in a place of reflection and as unfortuante as it is that I will now be unable to work; I have to find the silver lining in knowing that I am so lucky to able to have treatment and surgery when so many go without the resources that they need.  As I go to exams and learn what I will need next in my journey to recovery I can't help but to think about all the people in the world that don't have acces to adequate health care or treatment to their medical issues, and this is why I want to try to use my event to bring light and possibly help some of those suffering from far more than I am. Please consider making a donation of $1 or whatever amount you can to help those in far greater need than me.

All procedes raised will go to Human Rights Watch             https://www.hrw.org

Every country in the world is now party to at least one human rights treaty that addresses health-related rights. Yet, harmful laws, policies and practices routinely interfere with access to health care and increase vulnerability to ill health, particularly for poor, marginalized or criminalized populations. Our work examines the right to health and a healthy environment, the right to be free from discrimination and arbitrary detention, and the right to information, free speech, expression and assembly as critical means of achieving health. We work on infectious diseases, pollution and environmental health, sexual and reproductive health, and non-communicable disease, including access to palliative care for patients suffering with terminal illness.

please see the Health link under topics to explore more about the human right health needs this organization supports.
We should all have the right to medical treatment and care.  Thank you.
