Humankind south Tyneside young Carers Project

As people know I sadly lost my dad on the 11/11/2020. He was a much loved man by everyone he met and was always helping and putting others first. 

My dad always loved kids and would of done anything for them and with that in mind we have decided to raise money for a local charity on his behalf, a charity we know he would approve of as children are the centre of it. 

Due to current Covid guidelines and funeral numbers at a low. We have set up this page for anyone wishing to donate on behalf of him. we will also only be having family flowers on the day.  Anything would be greatly appreciated and thank you from us all. 

Humankind South Tyneside Young Carers 

Young Carers within South Tyneside from the ages of 5yrs-25yrs. These children and young people are providing care and support to family members who may have a physical disability, a long term medical condition, a mental health difficulty or substance misuse problems. Often young carers are isolated with very limited social opportunities, have few friends, suffer with stress and anxiety and have problems with school attendance and their education. Families usually have multiple complex needs.

the project offers the following support, advice and information to Young Carers and their families

Time to yourself
To meet new people and make new friends in similar situations to yourself.
Weekly after school clubs (Age 5 – 16)
School holiday activities
Personal Development, Workshop, and Qualifications
Residentials
Young Adult Carer group – Age 16-24
Advice, Information and Signposting
School Support – Drop In Sessions and one to One Support
Family Support and Advice
