Justin & Brendan Dyer Funeral Fund

Donation protected
On Saturday, November 22, 2014, Justin Dyer, age 37 passed away unexpectedly leaving behind his wife Sondra, two young children Alyssa (9), Brendan (6), and his parents, Bruce and Cynthia Dyer of Chillicothe, Ohio.  The family made plans for a small, private funeral service for Wednesday, November 26th.  In a tragic turn of events, Brendan was struck by a car in front of his grandparent's house yesterday afternoon (November 25th). He was one week shy of his 7th birthday and was excitedly awaiting his chocolate birthday cake <3.

This family is suffering tremendous heartbreak as their worlds have been shattered in less than three days.  There is no life insurance to assist with expenses, the family members are unemployed, and are in great need of any assistance to help put their loved ones to rest peacefully.  Arrangements have been made with Haller Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Ohio.

The purpose of this account is to assist the family with the expenses that will be associated with these costs.  The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Haller Funeral Home to assist with the costs of the services and/or to this GoFundMe account.  Funeral arrangements have been posted in the updates section of this site.

Lastly, please keep the Dyer family in your continued thoughts and prayers as they struggle through the difficult days ahead.

11/27/2014 UPDATE:  I have been asked to provide an update and additional information on behalf of the family and the GoFundMe organization regarding this campaign and the purpose of the funds due to the amazing generosity shown by so many in just little over 24 hours.  As the GoFundMe organization should, they want to ensure that donors are not being taken advantage of; therefore, I am happy to comply with anything they request.  My name, as shown on this account is Missy Janey Brenner, and I reside in Wellston, Ohio.  I was asked to establish and oversee this account by the family yesterday afternoon.  I am a friend of Justin's mother Cindy, after working closely with her for over six years.  My co-workers and I have had the pleasure of watching Brendan and his sister Alyssa grow from 'babies' through every ornery stage ;)  I felt honored that the family asked me to assist in this endeavor as one always wants to help during difficult times; I have been granted that opportunity.

This account is to help the family with the burial expenses.  The funds generated from this drive will be utilized for the purchase of a burial plot(s) [pending the family's decision on how they choose to lay both of their loved ones to rest], vault(s), casket(s), flowers, monument(s), etcetera.

Plans for the distribution of the funds are for the funds to be distributed directly to the businesses of which the bills are owed through the GoFundMe site.  If this is not possible, I will work with the family to establish an account at a local bank distinctly for the purpose of this account / bills.  Funds will not be transferred to an individual's personal checking account.  In full disclosure, please know that GoFundMe DOES keep approximately 7% of the funds generated for administering the account; which is perfectly reasonable and understandable.  My personal goal, with the permission of the family, for purposes of transparency will be to post updates regarding how/where the money was expensed.

Those that have donated have given a piece of their heart to this family; and they have felt your love and prayers with each message and donation.  Again, thank you for each kind word, thought, prayer, donation, and share regarding this campaign.
