Hugo needs a hip ❤️

My nephew pup received some hard news today, at only 3 years old Hugo needs a hip replacement. Hugo was rescued last year from Brookhaven animal shelter, after being brought there from his previous owner because his chihuahua would beat him up. This Pitbull bullmastiff mix is the most loving dog, and has become such an important part of Anthony and Nicoles family.

Unfortunately, Hugo's right hind leg is completely out of the socket and the left hind leg is barely in. The vets say this is a birth defect and it's common in large dogs. The surgery requires a specialist, and the cost runs between 4,000-6,000.

Hugo is so loving, he loves to play, especially with kids. He loves walks and the beach. Without this surgery he will no longer be able to do the things he loves without constant pain.

Nicole is currently working full-time as a CNA and starting school in September to become a LPN. She has already applied for care credit but has only been approved for 1,000. Unfortunately with rent and other bills they are going to need help for Hugo's surgery.
