While Kathy is better situated than many in Houston hit by this awful storm, she is retired and has little means with which to recover from this financial/life disaster. Her insurance and other aid will only help to a degree and she will be left with a large out of pocket cost to cover. She will not be able to return to her home for many months as remediation and rebuilding takes place. Costs of dislocation are not covered. Houston is short on qualified contractors and short on materials as a result of this storm which will make this a very long process. Her car was also lost in the flood. Kathy will never be whole after this event.
Kathy and Tony have lived exemplary lives of service to others. It is now their turn to receive the generous help they need in this time of disaster.
This campaign is initiated by Kathy's family members and 100% of all donations will go directly to Kathy to help defray the very large costs she will incur to rebuild her home and the costs of living while her home in uninhabitable. In the event that funds raised exceed Kathy's recovery needs, the excess will be donated to reputable local Harvey relief efforts like those of JJ Watt.
Thank you for whatever help you can offer!
These photos cannot fully convey the destruction that exists in the house as it soaked in putrid flood water for over a week. So much lost!
