Nick Needs New Wheels

Donation protected

Nick has faced many challenges over these past years in recovering from his stroke. Peggy has been right there alongside—supporting him both physically and emotionally every step of the way.

Now they are looking at a next step in this ongoing process: Nick wants to be able to travel more and take his bike and electric scooter along. Peggy is up for this too but getting Nick and his equipment in and out of the car is taking a physical toll.

Luckily, there is a solution for both of these needs: a mobility van equipped with lifts for Nick in his wheelchair and for his equipment. Swivel seats  will allow Nick to transfer with ease from the wheelchair to the passenger seat, or the seat can be removed so Nick can wheel right into the passenger space. Electric lifts will also be able to raise Nick’s equipment into the cargo area. These features enable Nick’s increased independence and eliminate the need for Peggy to do the heavy lifting. But mobility vans are expensive. This is where you come in!

We are hoping to support Nick and Peggy with funds to help them purchase a van to meet their needs in time for trips this spring and summer. They hope to make day trips in and around Boston as well as more extended vacations to Maine and the Cape.

We hope you will join us to help take this next step in Nick’s recovery! Donations of any amount are appreciated.

If you would like to  donate anonymously be sure to click on "Hide name and comment from everyone but organizer".  (Per site requirements we as organizers will have the full information.) Your donation amount will show on the site but without your name.  We will however be sure to let Peggy and Nick know that you've given support to their recovery!

Please feel free to give as much or as little as you can. Know that you'll be helping them enjoy a better quality of life with whatever you give.

Thank you!
