Hudson Is Getting a Dog Park!
Donation protected
The title of this campaign is "Hudson Is Getting a Dog Park," but Hudson now has a dog park, which opened in October 2019. We are keeping the campaign going because we are hoping to make the dog park, beloved by all who frequent it, even better.
A previous GoFundMe campaign, initiated in 2014, and this one, started in 2017, together with a contribution from the Mrs. Greenthumbs Hedge Fund (now the Hudson Parks Conservancy), raised a total of $14,000 and paid for the fence and the poop bag dispensers--the most critical elements of a dog park. In 2020, we're hoping to make improvements to the park--one of them being a hard surface at the entrance to the large dog park to eliminate the mud that develops after a thaw or a heavy rain.
The City of Hudson provided the land for the dog park, the Department of Public Works mows the lawn, hauls away the trash, and plows the snow from the driveway and parking lot, but beyond that, the creation and maintenance of the dog park is the undertaking of individual dog owners who recognize the importance of a dog park for the community--for both dogs and their humans--and who enjoy outings at the dog park with their canine companions. Your contribution to support the dog park is greatly appreciated.
