2月6日の深夜12時頃台湾の花蓮市（かれんし）でマグニチュード6.4の地震が発生しました。現時点で15名が死亡し、約280人の負傷者が出ています。
4つのビルが倒壊し、約約４万戸が断水、約5千戸が停電しています。
両親と私も地震の被害者です。両親はビルの11階に住んでいて、そこを私は訪れていた時に、地震が起こりました。地震により、ビルが30度程傾斜したので、私たちはもう生きる事はできないと覚悟しました。幸い余震が起こらなかったので、ビルの4階まで避難する事は出来ましたが、そこよりも下の階は地震の影響で全て埋まってしまったので、そこでレスキュー隊の到着を待ちました。そして約30分後に私達はレスキュー隊に救助してもらいました。

命を失わずにすんだのはありがたいですが、全ての両親の家と全ての所有物を失ったという現実はあまりにも辛く厳しいものです。
人に助けを求めるのは好きではないのですが、今まで一生懸命頑張って貯金したお金で手に入れた財産をたった10秒ほどの地震によって全て失い、落胆した姿（父は10月で66歳になります。）を見るのは、私にとっては何よりも辛いです。
もし可能であれば、皆さんからの助けを借りて、両親に元の生活を取り戻してあげたいと思っています。

既に両親の住んでいる市にはたくさん海外からの支援が届いていますが、その支援が両親に少しでも届く可能性は、現状から考えても残念ながらほとんどない状態です。
寄付して頂いたお金は全て、両親の新しい住居や生活用品等の購入に当てさせて頂きます。非難時私達は何一つ持ち物をもって逃げる時間もなく、非難後は、持ち物を取りに行きたくとも、傾斜したビルに戻ることはもちろん出来ません。
そればかりか、傾斜したビルはレスキューが終了した後に、取り壊す事が決定しています。
多くの労りと協力に感謝いたします。

On February 6, 2018, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Hualien, Taiwan just before midnight. An estimated 280 are injured, and 15 dead so far. Four buildings collapsed, about 40,000 are without water, and about 5,000 no electricity.
My parents and I were victims of the quake. They have a home on the 11th floor of one of the highrises that tilted, and I was visiting when the earthquake struck. The building tilted by at least 30 degrees and we resigned ourselves to fate. To our surprise, there wasn't another earthquake and we were able to get to the fourth floor (all buried below fourth floor) We waited 30 minutes before rescue teams helped
us outside.

We are grateful to be alive, but the reality of life without all personal belongings & a home is settling in.
I don't like to ask for help, but the pain of seeing my parents (father will turn 66 in Oct), who spent so much savings and energy to build all this, just to see everything gone in less than 10 seconds, is far more devastating. If you are able, I'd like to ask for your help in getting my parents get back to their normal life. Our city has received lots donations from over all the places, but due to all the regulations, it is very unlikely for us to receive any of it.
The fund will be used to help my parents to relocate a new home once everything is settled. We didn't bring anything out when escaped and also not allowed to go back to retrieve anything inside. In fact the demolition of the building will begin anytime, since the rescue stopped.
