Reliable transportation for Matthew

Matthew has Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare and life threatening genetic disorder. Because of his disorder his mother has to make numerous trips into New Orleans for his doctors and therapist visits. To get there they have to cross the causeway, 24 miles of nothing but water. This is definitely no place to break down especially when you're transporting a child with special needs.
Today the jeep caught fire. Fortunately they weren't on the causeway at the time!!!! Having the car catch fire is scary enough all by itself. The idea of being on the causeway, with no shoulder to pull over on, steady traffic, with nothing but water for miles, gives me chills.
Matthew's school day is altered so his mother has to make frequent trips back and forth to the school for drop off and pick up. When Matthew becomes ill at school that means another trip back and forth to the school. Having reliable transportation is crucial for this family.
Another important factor in purchasing a new car is that it must have working air and heat. Matthew is unable to regulate his own body temperature and could easily over heat or become too cold. These are conditions that could easily cause severe illness for him.
I've known Matthew and his mother Bobbi since he was about 3 years old. He has always had a special place in my heart so I started this gofundme out of my desire to help. Honestly I have no idea what it would take to get them a decent, reliable car. I just want to help somehow.
