Greetings to All Dharma Communities, Friends and Family!
On May 6, at 11:28am ( according to Facebook )... I announced that my 2.5+ year tenure at Spirit Rock Meditation Center as a Staff Resident and Community Welcome Leader would be coming to a close. This coming November 2018 would have made 3 years for me to have experienced working with the Staff, Teachers, Volunteers and amazing people that create the vibrant community that we know as Spirit Rock. The time has passed so quickly since I arrived here, and, my time has been very, very, well invested.
The purpose for this transition is that I have an opportunity to go to back to my birthplace which is Los Angeles, CA., with intentions to continue training as a Dharma Leader / Facilitator, and to support Community Outreach efforts into the wide and diverse communities of Los Angeles through the InsightLA Meditation Center!

The Past :
Approximately 3 years ago, I stood at the threshold of a new venture, with a very passionate heart about the Dharma, the People and our Collective desire to experience a different quality of life, here and now. You may recall at that time, I had been accepted into the Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leader Training program and requested support with the Tuition :
Venture 1 : CDL5
History shows that the Community rallied behind me, strongly supporting my vision of completing the training to become one of the new Dharma Leaders of the West, that is also a Person of Color.
As a result of that support, many, many doors opened that offered me opportunities to gradually apply what I had learned in Training. I became a Spirit Rock Staff person, a Graduate of the Sati Center Chaplaincy Training, a Co-Founder of InsightRichmond , and visiting teacher at EBMC and the AlamedaSangha. All of this within 2.5 years...

The Now
TDv2 :
This fundraiser is titled as TDv2 ( Thomas Dharma Venture 2 ) because it marks the 2nd time that I've come to you with a request to support my vision and continued journey in the Dharma. The stakes are higher for a couple of reasons :
1. I am being called away from the Bay Area which has been my Home,
the Root of my Spiritual journeys and the very base of all that I know
about Community.
2. I will be re-planting and re-building every aspect of my life in LA,
housing, livelihood, health-care, community and so on...
The Vision :
I don't know what the future holds, but I do know where my Heart is aligned...
With your Support of TDv2 I will endeavor to :
1. Continue Leadership / Facilitator Training at InsightLA with occasional extended retreat time.
2. Build a modern teaching platform to connect with local and non-
local Communities, offering support in Mindfulness and Dharma orientation.
3. Seek out and Inspire those within LA's Community that desire to Identify and Cultivate their authentic voices and talents that will be expressed through serving there Communities; while bringing their Authentic Voice into the Dharma.
TDv2 Summary : This Fundraiser is presently at 80%!!!
I am asking you to generously Support #TDv2 both tangibly and intangibly. #TDv2 is not only about raising Money, because the possible outcomes will go so much further than that. I want you to support #TDv2 so that The Story itself may unfold over time and be shared in a way that could touch and inspire many that are at the crossroads of fulfilling what is most meaningful in their lives.
