Gerry "Dirt" Martin

On July 6th, our good buddy Gerry “Dirt” Martin was putting the final touches on the house staining he and Leslie had been working on together. Gerry fell to the ground from the ladder he was on and severely injured himself. He was airlifted to Sudbury General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. His current condition is that he will have full use of his upper body but the same cannot be said for his lower body. After a few days of being kept unconscious while his breathing stabilized, they have pulled the tubes from his throat that were helping him breathe.

Now that Gerry can talk, instead of trying to chew through the tubes running down his throat, his message is clear, he chooses life and will take his condition on as his challenge.

I understand the GoFundMe platform typically asks for a goal. We cannot put a price on what Gerry means to us nor can we predict the costs and hurdles Gerry, Leslie and their family will be faced with in the NOW and Beyond.

Therefore, I’ve filled in the box of “Campaign Goal” at $1 because I could not proceed without something filling that field. Gerry is priceless and his future will be in his control. Give what you wish and know Gerry will turn your investment in him into an incredible giving life.
