Help us create education platform in Mozambique

This initiative is the result of a combination of ideas between EDUSANU and Tecmarc Limitada, driven by the growing need for investment in the Education sector in information and communication technologies. This is a non-profit initiative to create an online education platform with merely local content based on books used in Mozambique's national education system; setting up of three computer laboratories for three schools and the construction of classrooms for two schools. The project will benefit more than eight million pupils/students and teachers from general education. This number may rise along the time, according to the annual statistics. The platform will be accessible to all students of general education in Mozambique, and it is only necessary to register free of charge from the web or app installed on the mobile phone. They will be accessible on the platform, text-format classes, and videos.

This project will involve information and communication technology professionals, teachers and other administrative professionals. However, time, human resources, material resources and financial resources will be required. Therefore, we intend to raise 8,641,800.00 MZN corresponding to 123,580.75 USD.

In Mozambique, according to the National Institute of Education Development (INDE) 8,411,201 students were enrolled in general education in the 2020 school year, of which 7,084,217 are from primary school and 1,32 6,713 from secondary school. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, they were oriented to stay at home, thus losing the school year. The educational system in Mozambique is not ready to face a pandemic of equal size, which is why it has left students without access to classes, despite attempts to introduce online classes that have proved inefficient. At the moment, the government's solutions to overcoming and preventing such situations still not clear. On the other hand, more than 90% of schools do not have computer labs and most of the classes in rural schools are taught under trees.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and mainly the evolution of ICTs, the excessive use of ICTs and the poor reading of traditional books by students/students -this second factor is a problem that raises many debates within the academic community -Tecmarc Lda, in collaboration with EDUSANU, presents a solution that will respond to and prevent possible future catastrophes and change the teaching and learning process in Mozambique.
The initiative aims to create an online platform, in which all of the teaching content in the first to twelfth grades in Mozambique education and learning system will be included; setting up of three computer laboratories for three schools and the construction of classrooms for two schools. Content will be available in text and video format to ensure that all types of students/students are included, whether normal or disabled (deaf and blind)

In this context, the overall objective of the project is to design, develop and create a website platform and application containing the content of the national education system, set up computer laboratories and build classrooms.
