Blessed Ramadan Signs - Naperville

Donation protected
DISPLAY a Blessed Ramadan sign in your yard! SUPPORT religious freedom in Naperville and surrounding area. SHOW our Muslim community members that we respect their observance of Ramadan.

We learned of this yard sign campaign begun in 2016 by the Minnesota Council of Churches on Facebook. Artwork for the signs is available online to download for FREE. We only have to pay to have the signs printed.

We took an informal poll among neighbors to see if we could bring this campaign to the Naperville, IL area. Naperville is a vibrant, diverse community which is home to a growing, enthusiastic, collaborative interfaith initiative. In fact, Mayor Chirico recently proclaimed Naperville as a Community of Unity and Acceptance.

While a Blessed Ramadan yard sign is but a small gesture, it helps to create awareness of a religious holiday many are unfamiliar with, encourages conversations and builds bridges with our Muslim neighbors.

We decided to DO IT!

Saying "Blessed Ramadan" to a Muslim is like saying Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Happy Diwali or Happy Kwanzaa, etc. It doesn't mean we all have the same religious beliefs. It is a kind gesture or greeting which shows respect and implicitly recognizes that freedom of religion in this country applies to everyone.

As a Reward and Thank You, for any donation of $10 or more we will guarantee 1 sign and 1 wire stake will be reserved for you. All amounts donated above $10 will fund additionals signs for the general public. The first 180 signs are expected to arrive May 10th.

If you represent a community group or congregation and are ordering large quantities, please contact me first so I can pass on to you the full bulk discount and set yours aside.

Signs will be 18"x24" double-sided, color, corrugated plastic, with stakes.

Signs will be available for pickup at a Naperville, IL location starting May 11th. Dates and times will be published via email to donors and Facebook. We will not deliver/ship.

PLEASE SHARE THIS CAMPAIGN WIDELY! Ramadan  starts SOON.

What is Ramadan?
Beginning this year on May 15th, Ramadan is the holiest season in Islam and lasts for one month. It is a time of dawn-to-dusk fasting and frequent prayer. The annual observance is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is performed to learn compassion, self-restraint, and generosity.
