Assist Team in Rebuilding Homes

**WE UPDATED THE GOAL for 2 MORE HOMES! **
YOU ARE AMAZING... your generosity astounds me!

We have funded 6 rebuilds and raised the goal to fund 2 more! I believe we can do this!

My 79yo dad and his team of tool-laden-seniors are rebuilding in south Texas after Hurricane Harvey. 

(Yes, that was over 2 months ago. Yes, folks are STILL not back in their houses. Yes, folks are still waiting on aid, helpers and assistance. Meanwhile - they drive down, clean out and build up!)

They are planning to head back for their 3rd trip! They have already gotten FIVE families back into their homes! == Safely, without mold and with new sheetrock, tape & bed and texture/paint! ==

In the photo below they are loaded up and ready for trip #2!

This last trip they finished out a house for a family with a disabled daughter that had been sent as refugees to a nursing home. They then started receiving BILLS from the nursing home that FEMA sent them to.  

We wanted to get them back in their home safely ASAP! (They are now in after Trip #2!) #GoDad 



There are now 3 more homes they are finishing out because federal help is slow, paperwork is massive, funding is inadequate and people are displaced. **We've updated the goal to fund more homes!**

This brings their total to 12 homes they've supplied the labor, supplies and time for. No grants. No motives. Just people serving people. Kindness. Grace. Sweat. Time.

It's a long drive. 
They sleep on thin mattresses on floors. 
They are away from their families.
It's unpaid. 
There's no glory.
Not one of them has a social media account they are broadcasting to or getting recognition from.

7-8 unnamed men, depending on the trip.

And still he leads. At 79. Seriously.

I'm so proud of this man and his band of merry men.

This is how you change the world. One hammer-swing at a time.

So grateful for his example and leadership in every area of my life.

We could use your help. They have already gotten local donations and hardware store discounts  and had their small town churches help to the tune of $30k and beyond for these families. (Some of which are working multiple jobs and surviving day-to-day.) It's devastation there. Total devastation.
NOTE: NONE OF THESE FUNDS go to feeding these men, gas expenses, tools or anything. THEY FUND THEIR OWN WAY. Their wives send food with them. 

They sleep on thin roll-up mattresses we purchased for their 'rescue adventures' years ago. 

THIS GOES DIRECTLY to supplies and restoration of houses. NOT furniture, clothes or even food - this is for bare walls you guys. Bare livability. We're getting folks in a position to live in their house while they wait on loans or help or insurance (if there is any!)

If you watched the video... you saw my dad's heart, his will, his work ethic. This will be used wisely.

After 25 years in the US Coast Guard for search and rescue...5 years on the mission field and 30+ years in ministry my dad still has a heart for rescuing those in need. His selfless leadership, patriotism and work ethic make him unlike anyone I've ever know.


A proud grandfather of 10.  And stellar role model.


When he isn't leading rescue & rebuild efforts, he is spending time with his family, serving his church, mowing on his tractor or teaching his Bible class. 

Thank you for helping this effort. He has no idea how online campaigns work and I cannot wait to surprise him with OUR funding!
