A Slab City styled communinity for every county!

Slab City is an unintentional shared living space on the outskirts of the Sonoran Desert in Southern California. An old WWII Marine Corps training base that was clolsed in the early 1950's. The military commissioned to have the buildings removed but none of the foundations, hence the name "Slab City" shortly after the base was closed vagrants, trainhoppers, and vagabonds began inhabiting the area. Travelers, peaceful hippies, and families who were freedom-seekers also moved in. This is the most beautifully marbled, artistically astounding, freely expressing community that we love and we call home.
They shut our water off! The Golden State Water Company illegally shut off the water to Niland and Slab City by slapping  Niland Chamber of Commerce with a surprise increase of 700 dollars  per month. The only way for us to restore clean drinking  water is to reimburse the Niland Chamber of Commerce for the increase or to find alternate ways of attaining water. We as a community of individuals who want to explore agricultural practices, families who want to educate about and encourage environmental stewardship, humans who want to be inspired by love and friendship need help from other humans to keep Slab City, Salvation Mountain, East Jesus' recycle-art garden an inspiring place to visit and slabbers to live.
