CHURCH ACTION REFUGEES SUPPORT

Donation protected
The Christ Abiding Ministries (CAM) is a global community created to proclaim the good news of Christ in words and in deeds for the benefit of the General Public: Charity #: 1145289

CAM is grateful to the many people who donated money and items through their church, community group, or in person to Church Action Against Ebola (CAAE) and Church Action Post Ebola (CAPE).you donations saved many lives and is now increasing hopes and changing lives in Africa.

As you are aware of the biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War, CAM’s members and supports are increasingly concerned by the desperate situation facing refugees and many have asked how they can help. As a global community, we also have connections to the areas affected, and our membership in the UK includes those who are alive today because this country welcomed them or their families when they were fleeing conflicts and well-grounded fear of prosecutions.

As in many desperate situations facing humanity CAM is committed to doing its part to help support refugees and asylum seekers. In this regards we have initiated a support platform called CARS.

CHURCH ACTION REFUGEES SUPPORT (CARS) is taking donations to help new refugees and Asylum Seekers who often arrive with the clothes that they are wearing. CARS will collect, sort and hand out shirts, trousers, jumpers, shoes and other clothing to Children, men and women. Donations can be brought to Highfield Trinity community space, 11 Holland Place, London Road, Sheffield, S2 4US

Raise awareness: Please come and find out how Christ Abiding Ministries (CAM) in supports Refugees and Asylum Seekers, how we responded to the Ebola Crisis in Africa, how we are responding to the Post-Ebola crisis in West Africa, how we are responding to the current refugee crisis and decide where to make your contribution.  Our office is open on Saturday 3: pm-7:00pm, Sunday 12-4pm, Monday 10: am -3pm and Wednesday 4-7:30pm

RE: CHURCH ACTION POST –EBOLA (CAPE)

Thanks a million time for your generous donation to Church Action Against Ebola (CAAE). Your willingness to help fight against Ebola continues to make a significant difference to the lives of the people globally and particularly in West Africa where we see unprecedented death and communities’ degenerations.

While it is clear that the fight against Ebola is not over yet, we are positive that our unanimous efforts have helped and continue to help stop Ebola from killing people, destroying communities and the future of children and young people.

As we see and continue to hear some good news about  the decline  in the Ebola emergency  in west Africa, Christ Abiding Ministries wishes to take the fight Against Ebola to the next level by initiating a new Project called (CAPE) “Church Action Post –Ebola”.  The project aims at petitioning the support of individuals, faith groups, communities groups, the international community, national and local governments, public and voluntary organisations for a joint Action Post-Ebola in Africa.

CAPE AIMS: In this post-Ebola endeavour we will be creating awareness, fundraising and collecting  material donations in order to help children and young people back to Schools, support families  to re- integrate into their communities, support orphanages/homes  that are helping children who lost their entire families to Ebola  and support  local hospitals in preventing  Ebola and future epidemics.

CAPE OBJECTIVES: To achieve this we will be  organising events including street collections, walks, talks, prayer services, radio interviews, TV shows,  presentations at community centres, Schools, libraries, health centres, mosques, Temples, Churches, lobby PMs MEPs to take immediate action Post- Ebola in Africa, do more through leaflets, Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, printed t-shirts and  more.

UPDATES: CAPE will continue to update supporters and the general public on the progress of the project and organise more collaborative consultations, reviews and joint meetings with the various Ebola Intervention Task Forces from the counties affected by Ebola so that together we design activities and take appropriate actions to tackle the after-mark Ebola in Africa.

LOOKING BACK: In July 2014 Christ Abiding Ministries (CAM); a Charity with members from many nationalities including Guinea, Liberia ands Sierra Leone; the countries that are deeply affected by the Ebola epidemic, initiated “Church Action Against Ebola” (CAAE) as distinctly joint effort in the fight against the deadly Ebola virus by soliciting the support from individuals, the international community, the UK government, national, local, private, public, voluntary and community organisations. In our joint endeavour, we created awareness and fundraised in order to help contain the Ebola epidemic in Africa. We organised events including street collections, walks, prayer services, fundraising events, radio interviews, TV shows, online fundraising, presentations at community and  faith  centres, lobbying PMs/ MEPs, the international community to take immediate action. We also printed t-shirts, leaflets, used Facebook, twitter and LinkedIn for publicities and more.

The money we raised was used to  transport donated materials and to buy more health/ sanitation materials that were  distributed among the three countries affected the most, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia through the Ebola Taskforces of the named countries. A small among of the Money was used to organise a special multi-faith and cohesive event of Commiseration for people in Sheffield who lost families and relatives to EBOLA in West Africa On18/01/2014. (DVD available upon request)

Together we can completely stop the spread of the Ebola and help restore normal lives to its remaining victims in West Africa.

Many thanks in advance for your support as we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Akoi Bazzie
