GASTROPERESIS KILLS

Kendra is a 18 year old girl who has been fighting gastroparethis from the age of 8, It started out as what looked like IBS but quickly made its toll into gastroparesis, at first the diagnosis was tolerable-the young girl said, but by the time she reached 16 her disease swirled into a horror of fighting for her life each and everyday. Kendra needs a feeding tube so that her body can regain back her nutrition count and finish on living life as a healthy teenager should, Kendra has been throwing up everything she eats for the past 5 years of her life, trying to maintain a stable weigh, and mindset is all she can bare at this moment, without the feeding tube, Kendra will lose every little bit of nutrition she has left in her and will not be able to continue fighting for her life.

Gastroparesis happens when the vagus nerve, which keeps the muscles of the stomach and intestine working properly, is damaged. In worst cases vomiting can happen in severe amounts each and everyday. Severe vomiting can lead to severe dehydration and hypokalaemia witch is when the levels of your potassium intake go off balance.

Potassium is important for a person's muscles to work effectively, including the heart. Potassium also has a role in regulating blood pressure.

Low potassium levels (hypokalaemia) can cause weakness as cellular processes are affected.

Potassium is a mineral (electrolyte) in the body. Almost 98% of potassium is found inside the cells. Small changes in the level of potassium that is present outside the cells can have severe effects on the heart, nerves and muscles. The kidney is the main organ that controls the balance of potassium by removing excess potassium into the urine.

Low pottasium levels can lead

Food that stays in the stomach for a long time can spoil, which can lead to the growth of bacteria.

Undigested food in your stomach can harden into a lump called a bezoar. Bezoars can cause blockages in the stomach that keep food from moving into the small intestine.

Sadly this young girl is not getting the minerals and nutrition she needs to stay alive, Please help Kendra get the proper treatment she needs to carry on living her life, Kendra someday dreams of becoming a nurse and helping others because she feels for those in need. please help make this wish come true and save a life. By donating to this young girl you will provide a feeding tube and a new, healthy smile.
