My Brother's Fund

On August 28, my brother's live-in partner Brittany went home to visit her family. She was celebrating the end of law school and looking forward to starting a new job at a law firm the following week. She would never make it through the weekend.

Brittany and her father were tragically killed by a driver believed to be high on heroin (A Father-Daughter Bond That Ended Far Too Soon ). The loss has been devastating to so many who loved her. My brother has lost his partner, the one true love of his life.

My family is starting this fund to assist my brother economically as he transitions through the aftermath of this tragedy. He works freelance in film production in New York City, and he had to give up potential employment on several projects when Brittany died. It's the slow season for production work right now, and it's been a challenge to get back on his feet. He's looking to move out of the apartment he and Brittany used to share. The memories, not to mention the rent, are too much to bear on his own.

We're trying to raise $7,000 to cover the costs of moving, security deposit, first and last months' rent, as well as any remainder on his current apartment. Please give whatever amount you can, and share this broadly. It's hard enough to move on after losing your life partner without having to worry about where you're going to live.
