Maureen Schmidt Disaster Relief Fundraiser

Donation protected
Maureen Schmidt is a registered nurse who provides acute dialysis services, and recently she lost nearly everything in the flooding in Midland, Michigan.  Around 3:00 am on Wednesday, May 20th, she experienced water pouring into the main floor of her home and overflowing from the sinks, toilet, and bathtub.  She and her 9-year-old Lab, Zoie, were rescued by boat that day and her house had approximately 5 feet of standing water inside at the time she left.  She expects her home to be completely gutted, dried out, and rebuilt over the next years’ time.
Just when she thought the flooding was the only catastrophe she would have to endure this year, she tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, May 29th.  A week later she was hoping to be cleared to return to work but is still experiencing symptoms of the virus.  Even with all of this tragedy, Maureen is still in good spirits and has a positive outlook knowing she will get through this.

Maureen is now temporarily off work as she recovers and begins the long road ahead to rebuild her home.  We have started a fundraiser to help her during this extraordinary time of need.
