Help Oscar get to work

Donation protected
I was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis on February 2004. I was in college living the typical college life and was lucky enough to meet my wife who means the world to me. The effects started with my having to use a cane to walk. Eventually I needed a walker, then a manual wheelchair to, now, a power wheelchair. I’ve had relapses on top of my progression so I’ve gone blind (briefly, thankfully) in each eye separately, among other issues.

That being stated, I’ve worked at one job or another since I was 12 years old. I’m not letting this disease stop me from getting up every morning and earning my living. To do that I need a car. I’ve been lucky enough to find one that has been modified so that I can enter and drive it myself but that brings us to why I started this campaign.

The car I’ve been using has become too difficult for me to use as the modifications no longer allow for me to safely enter and exit the car. My wife and I found a great car that would comfortably accommodate my needs and we’re very glad we did, but it is very expensive. Health insurance doesn’t cover any of the cost, and the modifications alone cost $25,000, so we went from owning a car and no car note to newfound debt.

Our hope is that our friends and family may help us with a monetary donation. We set the goal at $10,000 but fully understand that there is only so much you can give so ANY help to this end is greatly appreciated.
