Help my Daughter and Son In Law

Donation protected

On Thursday night of April 5, 2018 my Son In Law was involved in a serious car accident which resulted in him being ejected 50 feet from my daughter's vehicle.  He suffered from a concussion, two fractured ribs, a collapsed lung which required a tube to be inserted into his chest, lacerations on his scalp that required staples in two different spots, a fractured nose that required stitches, stitches on his right eyebrow and forehead, staples on his left elbow, and road rash all over his body.  While we are so blessed and extremely grateful to have Dale still with us, and that the other party is okay, this doesn't relieve the financial stress they are about to encounter.  My daughter, Kelley, might not be happy with me sharing this information but I feel everyone needs to understand the despair they are in.  Last summer Kelley suffered from some medical issues which resulted in her being unable to work for three months.  You can imagine how detrimental this was to their financial situation as Kelley is the breadwinner between the two.  They fell behind on bills and childcare in the process and are still trying to catch up. Kelley, who owns the vehicle, had insurance which had lapsed just a few days prior due to the financial distress they have recently been under. Therefore, this wreck is not covered.  Not only have they had a complete loss in her Toyota Scion, but they also need to prepare for legal representation in the event they cannot work out an agreement between both parties involved in the accident.  Please understand I am only providing this information so you are aware of the entirety of the situation they are in.  Dale is currently unable to work due the injuries he sustained in the accident and the bills are not not going to just subside unfortunately.  Their childcare is expected to be paid weekly regardless if their son is there or not.  They are still in the process of trying to pay down the debt that accrued from last summer when Kelley was off from an illness.  My husband and I are not in a position to help them as I retired last spring and my husband, Kelley's father, recently retired as well; both of us retired due to medical purposes.  We wish so badly we could take this burden on ourselves but we just can't.

This fund would help in financial assistance while Dale is unable to work, it would help with legal responsibilities they are about to encounter, it would contribute in helping them obtain another vehicle, with medical costs from Dales hospital stay, and also help with bills and childcare for their three year old son, Dax.  If you know either one of them you would know they don't live beyond their means, they are just struggling from unfortunate situations.

I hope Kelley and Dale are not humiliated by this but I am desperate to help them and if this helps even a little, it will all be worth it in the end.  Both of them have endured so much grief and we just want them to be able to move forward.  I also know they would be forever grateful with any assistance you can provide to this fund.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide to this fund.

Sincerely,
Rita Langford
