Sue's medical bills & recovery

THANK YOU for taking the time to read my story. My name is Sue and I live in Southern Alberta. Thinking I was too proud to ask for help and that I would continue on as I am, I woke this morning with a hope that there might be help out in the world for me. I am 49 years old, a mother of 3 adult kids, step mom to 3 other adult kids and a Grandma to 6. My life has been filled with turmoil these past years. I just had my 16th surgery in 18 yrs. . I have had double knee surgeries, a breast reduction, heart surgery, gall bladder removed, an ileostomy (I have no large intestine and have a bag), spinal fusion of the lumbar spine, 5 revisions to my herniated ileostomy , a second spinal fusion and a few others.  This year alone I have had the spinal fusion Jan 30th and an  ileostomy revision 5 wks ago yesterday. I haven't worked for 6 yrs and have drained all of my investments. My body is exhausted. No energy. No stamina. Full of pain and in great need of physio therapy, massage ,cold laser therapy and inter muscular stimulation.  I used the last of my money to pay for a bunch of therapy in June to try to get kick started but ran out in July. I have a massage therapist that can make it to my home each week if I could pay her.  I do receive a government disability and my income to live on is $950/month. With all of my health troubles I am not sure what my future holds and when if ever , I will get back to work. I was a figure skating & power skating  professional for 25 yrs and it's hard not having my athletic body. 
I am not sure what help there is out there for me. I am taking my first step in asking for help. My Pride Hat is on the table. I just need some support so I can get back to the woman I used to be. Vibrant. Fun. Confident. Happy. Full of life.  I have always been the strong one and the leader and counsellor for everyone else. I look in the mirror and see an upcoming 50 yr old that is lost. Perhaps 2015 will be my turning point!
