Children in Nairobi need our love
Donation protected
My name is Sinead I am an ordinary mother living a relatively normal life in Dublin with my two beautiful children, wonderful husband and crazy yet lovable dog. I have created this page as I need help to fund a volunteer trip to the slums of Nairobi with a charity called Whistle. I will be heading to Kenya on the 2nd April 2018 to help the children living in the slums and dumps across the city. I have learned so much about the plight and poverty these young souls endure. It's truly heart breaking and I want to help anyway I can. I aim to raise €1000, I will be staying in a slum house for the 10 days, We are working on a project called "Mary Immaculate" This is a centre for street boys. This is home to 60 boys, whom I am still unable to bring myself to write what they have been through. We also aim to feed the kids who cannot even afford to live in a slum (I didn't know people paid to live in such desperate conditions) and hopefully create memories for children who truly need a bit of light. Within such sorrow there is joy and happiness that these children possess and we can only aspire to. I am an ordinary mother with extraordinary hopes of making a difference. Using my cooking skills I will be doing a lot of fundraising myself over the next 9 weeks. My children are also doing amazing things to raise money and awareness. Please help me reach my target, any donation no matter how small will make a huge difference. I will keep you all informed of what we are doing with regular updates pictures and blogs of the fundraising and the trip itself.
