Dear Friends of Ricardo Acuna,
This past fall USTA Player Development (PD) learned of Ricardo Acuna's diagnosis with Alzheimer's disease. The news came as a crushing blow to all of us who had the pleasure of working with Ricardo and building a friendship with him during his fifteen years as a USTA National Coach. Everyone at USTA PD remembers the energy, positive attitude, passion and dedication that Ricardo brought to the work place every day in Key Biscayne, Boca Raton and on the road with our very best American players and now we believe it is our turn to be there for him and his family when they need it the most. This is what true friendships are all about and nobody is more deserving of this loyalty than Ricardo Acuna.
The purpose of this fund is to provide financial help to the Acuna family for in-home services that will address the daily needs related to Ricardo's battle with Alzheimers. As many of you might know, this desease is a long, tough road for not just the person with the condition but the family as well. We hope you will join us in donating to this fund in order to lessen the burden on the Acuna Family and make this life transition for them as smooth as possible. This is the right thing to do for someone who dedicated so much of his life to American Tennis and all the relationships he made along the way.
