Pakistan Flood Relief Fund

Hi, I'm Maria, owner of WokeCup Café. I was born in Pakistan and moved to Ireland as a three-year old.

I've been completely heartbroken looking at the men, women and children suffering from the effects of global climate change in Pakistan. Drownings, entire villages wiped out, families and businesses left destitute overnight, and this is NOT even the end of the Monsoon season. Pakistan contributes less than 1% of global emmissions yet is ranked as the 5th most impacted country from the climate crisis (Global Climate Risk Index 2020).

In an effort to move out of paralysing despair, we at WokeCup Café huddled together to start this fundraiser with Islamic Relief Eire, a charity with boots on the ground. If you can donate and share this page widely, we would be most grateful. This donation will help provide vital humanitarian aid, working in local communities to establish how best to support affected families, who urgently need food, shelter, bedding, and hygiene items.
