Anna's medical fund

Anna is a 14-year old girl full of compassion, empathy, and LOTS OF ENERGY.   She has 3 sisters along with loving family and friends.  Her passions include cooking, animals, and soccer, to name a few.  Those that know her, know well her determination.  Her dream is to go to culinary school and open a cafe, which will no doubt happen if that is what Anna sets in her mind to do.

Despite living what would be perceived by most as a typical life for a young and bright teenager, Anna has been struggling with mental illness.  In the past year, things have gotten worse.  Her battle with severe anxiety and depression turned into self harm and suicidal ideations.  Consequently, Anna required hospitalization several times.

The instability this brought to our family was very challenging.  Treatment and therapy in Fort Collins was unsuccessful.  Realizing we were unable to keep Anna safe, we put her in a residential treatment center in Utah.  Anna has been in residential treatment for the past 5 months.  She is receiving intensive therapy and learning coping skills, while continuing her education in school at the center.  Anna is also  striving in many activities including soccer, animal husbandry, and a variety of outdoor recreation.  She has started making tremendous progress, finding self love and confidence that will benefit her the rest of her life.  This center may have saved her life.

While this intensive treatment in a residential facility is greatly benefitting Anna, it is also very expensive.  The mental health benefits provided by health insurance have helped, but the majority of the expense for Anna's care has been out-of-pocket, placing a financial burden on our family. At this point, we have exhausted our resources, including taking on multiple loans, and will not be able to continue paying for Anna's treatment at the facility.

Although she is making tremendous progress,  Anna is not ready to come home.  Our goal is to raise enough funds to keep her in treatment until she is ready to graduate the program , hopefully this spring.
Anna is blessed with a very loving and supporting family, but words can't express the hopelessness, desperation, and chaos that this has brought to all of us.

We are so grateful to have Anna in our lives.  We love her beyond words and look forward to the day she is ready to resume her life at home.  However, we know she needs more help before that day comes and we want to do whatever we can to help her navigate through life sucessfully and with resiliency.   That is why we are asking for this help now.  If you are able to help, please know that any donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how small.  Thank you so much and if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to contact us.
This campaign is set up for Anna by her parents Kristel Liddle  and Justin and Ruth Liddle.
