Help With Lola’s Medical Bills
Hi everyone. Last September our sweet Lola needed to have her eye removed due to cancer. After lots of tests and a long recovery, she seemed to be in the clear.
Fast forward to February and she suddenly became very lethargic, wouldn’t eat and blood seemed to be in her stool. We immediately took her to the vet. She was admitted into critical care for a fever of 108, with white cell and platelet levels being critically low.
They continue to run tests, manage her fever (it’s gone down but not by much) and are giving her medication. As of right now, we don’t know how long they are going to keep her, they are still running tests to figure out what’s wrong (tick-born disease, cancer, ??). The longer they keep her there, the higher the bills get.
In the past six months, we paid 7K for eye surgery, multiple vet visits, and this current stay is over 5K. For this current stay that was the initial bill, which keeps growing. They informed us of potential ongoing care and chemotherapy depending on the diagnosis.
*UPDATE
We unfortunately received word that Lola will still not be coming home and will need to have her bone marrow tested for possible Leukemia. Extended critical care, medications, and more testing have brought her bills passed $12,000 at this point. Any support, signal boosting, and love are greatly appreciated.
We’re so grateful for all your love and support and any funds you might be willing to give towards medical bills. Thank you
